Winter’s final fits and vicissitudes

Amid winter’s final fits and vicissitudes zigzagging toward spring, there’s lots to look forward to. Foremost is spring itself, the annual miracle of green creeping back over the hills, and pinks, purples, and yellows popping wherever we look. We’re working on some new songs, supporting our kids’ endeavors (a return to homeschool! anticipated ducklings! college decision!) and looking forward to the next time we get to play out and about.

A recent highlight for the year was seeing a live performance by the duo Goodnight Moonshine. They were recommended to us over a year ago when we were on tour, and we drove home on the last night blasting their music all the way, deeply moved and rejuvenated. When we learned earlier this month that they would be performing only two hours away for the Folk Club of Reston-Herndon in the Amphora diner, we immediately sprang for tickets.

Molly and Eben’s music refreshingly confronts the painful quandaries of being human in this wild world, and is saturated in much-needed compassion both for self and for others. It’s music for the soul and for these times!
