Mercy Now
At church on Christmas Eve Sunday we shared our interpretation of Mary Gauthier’s “Mercy Now.” Maria added piano accents while Christopher played guitar and sang just the second and final two verses, with an instrumental “Silent Night” interlude.
Afterward numerous people told us how this beautifully simple yet deeply evocative song resonated with their mix of pain and joy this Christmas season.
One person’s response was true for Christopher, too: the song “opened my heart to tears.”
