A cozy weekend in Lancaster and Brooklyn

A cozy weekend in Lancaster and Brooklyn

The hard-packed snow that caused us to postpone our tour the weekend before still encrusted the roadsides as we set out in our loaded minivan this past Saturday, but our first stop in Lancaster, PA, was the warmest of treats. Despite bitter temperatures a roomful of hearty folks showed up for our shared concert with Sopa Sol and listened, joined in singing two collaborative finales, and chatted with us afterward.

Sunday afternoon found us in the Brooklyn, NY, dining room of cousin friends Alyson and Geoffrey, who rearranged their furniture to create a stage framed by their picture window adorned with stained glass pieces and luxurious houseplants.

The apartment, with door signs by Ginger, filled with guests – the show was sold out – and we sang “Evening Will Come” as the winter twilight infiltrated the room, and street lamps outside flickered on.

There’s just nothing like gathering with old and new friends around music, and feeling the support of so many who share their time and kind words: “If you like stirring harmonies and evocative lyrics all wrapped up in a transcendent bow, you should check them out,” Zach of Brooklyn posted about us afterwards, and in Lancaster Dan told us, “You two are better than a traveling preacher!”
