Edges release concert #3
For our third and final Edges release concert we took the “stage” in our friends’ cozy living room-turned-concert venue. Hosts Megan, Ben, and Megan’s mom Annette had scoured the house to assemble an army of chairs, now filled with guests. Windows open to the warm spring air, we laid out our new songs, sang a few older tunes, and were amazed when the audience so fully chimed in immediately for a sing-along of “Orphan Girl.” Who knew there’d be so many Gillian Welch fans in the room?
Prior to the concert, to our delight, our hosts’ 10-year-old, dapper in a tan suit, announced he was the usher, and began welcoming guests and offering them chocolates from his pocket. The guests were also treated to newborn goat kids frolicking on the deck just off the kitchen, where a mouth-watering dessert potluck was on display.
We’re so thankful to our hosts for opening their home and making this memorable evening possible, and to all the folks who honored us with their presence.
